It's here; the last day of school! Woo-hoo!
I cleaned out and closed out the CLab yesterday. I don't work Thurs & Fri, but I went in to finish up some stuff, and I got it all done.
When I got there yesterday our secretary was by herself in the office, the phones were ringing off the hook, and there was a long line of kids trying to buy yearbooks from her. It took me a while to realize what was going on, & then I jumped in to help her out. We are down to about 40 yearbooks left, and I decided to go in early today to help her, because there will be a lot of last minute parents and kids trying to get their books. Lets hope we sell out by 9:30 am!
I called payroll yesterday about getting a new W2 form, because all of our tax stuff was sitting on our printer waiting to be entered when we lost it all, and for some reason I just decided that since summer is starting, I should call the district before everyone goes home for the summer.
I probably sounded pretty confused, but the sweet girl there understood what I needed and is gonna send my form with Jeannine. So, as she was trying to decide the best method to send the form to me, she suggested that she will send it through district mail and I can get it on Monday, right? Because Monday is a work day for all district employees, right?
Um, yeah, I guess. Except if I don't have to make up any snow days from December, since I don't work on Thurs & Fri and I only missed one day of school on the Wed snow day, and I already made that up. (In addition to all the early and late days I worked on the Yearbook, I was there all day yesterday)
Was I supposed to mention to the payroll girl that I already signed in for Monday??? Hmmm, maybe not the smartest idea. Especially since I am not even sure I will have my job in the fall. I don't think I earned lots of brownie points for that one. Yikes.
If my site staff have any say in it, I will still be there in the fall. Kyle, our principal, was thrilled with the yearbook, and totally excited when I told him that the publications office voted our yearbook the BEST of the district. (well, the best of all the yearbooks they printed) He thinks we need a trophy and there should be some kind of formal competition in the future. lol... that is funny! The pressure will be on.
Wow, I am so ready for the break! I think my whole family is. We are done with "The List," the yearbook and don't have any real pressing major things we need to do right now.
I am looking forward to just relaxing, writing out my over-due thank you notes, scrapping and just taking it easy. This has been quite a busy last 3 months.
7 more hours till Summer Vacation!!!! :)
