Disneyland!!!!

We took the fam Disneyland for Harry's 7th birthday! It was so so so awesome! His birthday was on Tuesday the 20th, but Dave couldn't get out of work that day, so we went down that night. Harry dressed up for school that day. He wore his African prince costume that Joel brought him back from Burkina Faso last summer. It is almost too small, and he needed to wear it before he couldn't fit into it anymore. He felt so special getting to wear it to school.
Anyway... Dave got off work and we zipped down to Anaheim. I Pricelined a hotel and we got the Hilton for $50 a night!!! Cool! So, I called the hotel to ask for 2 beds and while I was talking to the girl there I mentioned that it was Harry's b-day. When we got to the hotel to check in, the manager looked at our reservation, then said "hang on a sec" then he went in the back for a minute. He came back and asked if we had a birthday. Harry was still in the truck with Dave and Dal... it was just me & Jor and I told the manager that it was Harry's 7th bday and he said great! "We upgraded you to the Disney View room, and we will be bringing him a room service treat in about 15 minutes."

WOW!!! Sooo, we had an awesome room with a balcony bigger than the room itself! We got settled in and room service brought Harry a slice of birthday carrot cake which he shared with all of us! Sweeeeet!

We all headed to the pool. (our room was 5443, on the same level as the pool deck) We had fun and the kids met some other kids staying there. They played marco polo till the pool closed @ 10. We went bed and Dalin had a really bad cough and ended up sleeping on the chair. Poor guy... we had the softest beds and he slept on a chair.

We got up and walked over to the park. We were RIGHT across the street from the DLand parking lot, but it was a LONG walk to the ticket booth. We got the SoCal 2fer. Harry was $59 and the rest of us were $69 each. Not bad for 2 parks and 2 days! Super Cool!

We stopped for the traditional photo op in front of Mickey Mouse, and headed in the gate.

My new camera is in Virginia getting fixed, so Dalin was super nice and brought his camera and was our photographer for the trip!
Since the park opens at 10 am we had the cool opportunity to be "in" the park on Main Street waiting until they let the crowd in to the Magic Kingdom. It was fun to wait there with all the excited folks. We were right up front and went straight to the Nemo ride. The ride wasn't running yet, so we waited for about a half hour, but we were on the first boat. It was cute. Then we went on the autopia. Harry LOVED it!!! He thinks we should let him start driving now. lol.
Somehow we talked Harry into trying some rollercoasters. He was so brave. He loved Splash Mountain and Star Tours. Hated the Matterhorn.
I bought supercute mouse ears when I was in Florida last summer. Too bad they squished my head and by the end of the day I had a major headache. Well, at least I looked cute. :)
Jessie "hearts" Harry!
Woody and JessieLOVED getting to meet Harry "Buzz" Lightyear! (it was a great idea to let Harry wear his costume that day!!! He really got attention)

Mr Toad

Harry had a Happy Birthday button and ALL DAY LONG EVERYONE said Happy Birthday to him. They really made a big deal about it! It was so cool!
We were soooo tired after the long day. We left at 7 and walked over to the IHOP. Yuuummmm! Oh my goodness... it was totally yummy! Who would order chicken strips when you are in a pancake house???? ME!!! They gave us 2 free kids meals, and Dalin wanted a do-over from the last time he went to ihop and got sick. So he got the chicken fried steak, and I ordered an extra chicken strips for us all to share. Seriously... those chicken strips are really good. Dave and Jor got never ending pancakes and I splurged and got the lemon blueberry pancakes. (I saved them for breakfast the next day... good choice!)
We got back to the hotel and went swimming again. I was totally wiped out, so I didn't stay long. Jor was too tired to go at all and stayed and slept. We got up early, checked out and couldn't find the camera. It turns out we left it at the ihop... AND it was still there. We picked it up and went to the Disney parking lot. It started raining just long enough for us to get on the tram to the park. By the time we got there the rain was gone. Too cool!

Harry cried and cried and had a huge meltdown while we were in line for California Screamin. The cast member working the line tried to talk him into going, but finally said he could wait on the other side of the ride. Harry was so relieved. He walked on the ride, stepped right off and waited on the other side of the track. It was a scary ride and he would have freaked out, so it was a good choice for him. Jordan thought it was lame, but Dave and Dal wanted to go again, so the rest of us rode the merry-go-round while we waited. Then we found the Toy Story ride after they got done. The Toy Story ride was so so so fun!!!! It was and interactive ride and we got to "play" the ride. We went on it three times!
We headed over to bug land and were turned into bugs in the Bugs Life show. (I forgot how scary that gets)

In Hollywoood land we found a wall that looked just like the bench in Barcelona and we had to pose.
We spent a LOT of time in the Animation studio. Dalin wanted to learn to draw in the art studio, and Harry, Dave and Jor went to the Nemo show and Harry got to talk to Crush the turtle. It was awesome. Dal learned to draw Daisy Duck and enjoyed it so much he stayed and learned to draw Dopey too. While he did that, the rest of us went to the Tower of Terror.

OK, so the Tower of Terror was like the scariest ride ever! Ever! And that brave little trooper that Harry is, he went on the ride with us. OK, so if I had known how scary it was, I would not have made him go in it. But it was my first time too. And now Harry never has to go on it again.

We met up with Dal and they went on the Tower of Terror while Harry and I went to the Monsters Inc ride. And since the park was practically empty that day ther was NO LINE and we rode it about 5 times. Then we went to the Muppets show and met up with the rest of the fam and went on our last 2 rides. The park closed at 6 pm and we chose Soaring over California (the BEST RIDE EVER) and the Toy Story ride as our last 2 rides. Jordie left his new hat on the Soaring ride, so he and I went back to find it and met up with the others a little later. Since those 2 rides are on opposite sides of the park it was a LONG walk. They got stuck with the parade, so Harry got to see part of the parade and by the time they got to Toy Story there was a really long line. We met up with them half way through the line and didn't have to wait long at all. It was a great ride to finish our trip with!

On our way out we stopped at this cool bench because it also reminded us of that same cool bench in Barcelona. I was so tired by then I just wanted to chill for a while.

We took the tram to the parking lot and made our way home. (after stopping at Jamba Juice of course) We had dinner @ in-n-out on the drive back. Harry was asleep and when we got home it was like 9 pm and he asked if we had dinner. Good thing we saved his burger for him! He ate it and went to bed. Our trip was Tue - Thur, so the kids had to go to school on Friday. And since I missed work on Wed, I went to school on Friday too. But it was so worth it, because we had the BEST time at Disneyland!!!!
